The Dreamcatcher

A Dreamcatcher
‘’Catches bad dreams‘’
From Jacob Black to Bella Swan

You might be familiar with the scene from Twilight Saga ‘’New Moon’’, Jacob gave Bella a dream catcher as her 18’s birthday present.

What is a dream catcher?

Originally invented by Ojibwa Nation, dream catcher was then adopted by Native Americans of a number of different Nations as a simbol of unity and identification. It is used as a kind of charm to protect sleeping children from nightmares. It is believed that it can trap bad dreams and only let good dreams pass through. Bad dreams would stay in the net, disappearing with the light of day.

Jacob gave it to Bella to keep away the nightmares Bella saw after Edward left her. Bella then hung it on the headboard of her bed.

Traditionally, it was made by tying sinew strands to be like a spider web  inside a small round frame of willow. It can be accessorized with beads, corals, and feathers. It is said that the feathers stands for nothing, what matter is where the feathers come from, e.g owl feathers for wisdom and eagle feathers for bravery.

So, what are you waiting for?
Let's hang a dream catcher and catch the bad dreams.
